Cultivating Wellness Retreat: Through Meditation, Sound Bathing and Connection with Nature

This is a women-only retreat!
Located in the Beautiful Adirondack Mountains, Wiawaka offers a quiet refuge of calm, allowing the Mind and Body to Settle. Experience the beauty of the mountains, lake, trees, and fresh air while being gently guided by a Mindfulness Facilitator.
In a culture that moves so quickly, we invite you to slow down and restore a greater sense of balance and well-being. There will be short periods of silence while we practice Alone-Together.

Retreat will Include:

Overnight Single Accommodations at The Historic Wakonda Lodge

Prepared nutritious meals and snacks

Introduction to Mindfulness through Movement and Meditation (no experience necessary!)

Sound Bathing Session-A Sound Bath (AKA Sound Meditation) is an experience where participants are "bathed" in sound. The sound waves are produced by various instruments including singing bowls, gongs and chimes among others.

Ten-minute Chair Massage to relax the body

Quiet time to enjoy swimming, sunning or resting

Check-out: Saturday, July 19th at 11 AM

You may stay and enjoy the Retreat Center all day (unguided as free time) - swim, read, walk the labyrinth, enjoy the walking trails!

Retreat times: full itinerary will be provided

Friday, July 18th: 4 PM - 8 PM, with a break for dinner

Saturday, July 19th: 8 AM - 12 PM, with a break for breakfast and check-out

Cost: $365 - includes retreat + accommodations + food (rate may adjusted for students)

For comfort during the retreat:

Bring a beach towel (bed linens and bath towels provided)

Bring a thick blanket or mat for meditation

Wear loose clothing that allows for free movement while sitting, lying, and standing

Melissa will introduce you to mindfulness concepts and practices through breath and body awareness, guided meditation, and basic meditation practice.

Melissa Wilson PMH NP, BC Melissa is a NYS Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She attended the University of Rochester and has been a Healthcare Practitioner for 35 years, 25 years in Mental Health. She completed a Certification Program from The Institute for Meditation & Psychotherapy (Massachusetts) in May 2016. Her interest has been expanding her practice to include those interested in learning more about mindfulness practice in their daily lives.

Jessica Dunn, LMT
NYS Licensed Massage Therapist

Jessica will be engaging the group in a sound bathing session plus a separate chair massage session to assist with deeper relaxation and grounding.

Jessica Dunn, LMT, is a practitioner of Integrated Energy Therapy and is also a Reiki Master practitioner. She is a certified cupping therapist, and a Rossiter coach. In 2020 Jessica became a licensed vibrational sound therapist through the Vibrational Sound Association. Most recently in 2022 Jessica travelled to Hawaii to become certified in Manual Lymph Drainage (Vodder Technique) and Complete Decongestive Therapy.
